Samsung has added new safety features to its latest wearable device. The Galaxy Watch6 now includes fall detection and Emergency SOS. These tools are designed to help users in critical situations.

The watch uses advanced sensors to spot sudden falls. If a hard fall is detected, the device will vibrate and show an alert. It then starts a 30-second countdown. During this time, the user can cancel the alert if they are okay. If there is no response, the watch automatically calls emergency services. It also sends a message with the user’s location to pre-selected contacts.
Emergency SOS can be activated manually too. Users just need to press the side button five times quickly. This triggers the same alert and call sequence. The feature works even when the phone is not nearby, as long as the watch has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
Samsung says these updates reflect its focus on user safety. The company worked with health experts to make sure the system responds accurately. False alarms were reduced by testing the sensors with real-world movement data.
The new functions are part of Samsung’s ongoing effort to make wearables more helpful in daily life. They join other health tools like heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. All data is stored securely on the device or in Samsung’s encrypted cloud.
