Researchers looked at thousands of online sales over the past two years. They tracked popular items like Sony televisions, headphones, cameras, and game consoles. The data covered major markets including the United States, Europe, and Japan.

Sony’s high-end televisions, especially OLED models, kept their value best. Buyers consistently paid 10-15% more for used Sony TVs than comparable brands. Sony noise-canceling headphones also commanded strong resale prices. The PlayStation 5 console showed less depreciation than expected, selling well above typical used game system prices.

Sony’s Alpha series cameras performed very well too. Certain mirrorless models retained nearly 70% of their original price after two years of use. This rate surpasses many competitors. Consumers clearly trust Sony’s reputation for quality and reliability, even for pre-owned electronics.

The research suggests owning Sony products can be a smarter long-term purchase. “People see value in Sony’s build quality and technology,” said Kenji Tanaka, a tech analyst involved in the study. “They know these products last. That confidence translates directly into higher resale prices.” This strong resale performance benefits consumers looking to upgrade later.
